Let's go diving in 2012!!

What is your New Year's resolution this year?? Is it, learning a new hobby perhaps? Holidays in far flung beautiful places? Seeing more of the world and learning new cultures? Losing weight and getting fit?? Forming new friendships? Or doing something positive for the world and the environment we live in?

ReefCI ticks all those boxes!!!

Operating from a tiny idyllic private island no bigger than a football pitch in the Caribbean Sea, we offer fully inclusive Monday - Friday SCUBA packages in beautiful Belize. A lot of people have yet to discover this wonderful country, a hidden gem in the heart of Central America. Nestled just South of Mexico and next to Guatemala on the Caribbean Sea, Belize is only a short flight from the United States. A country full of amazing natural resources, jungles, waterfalls, Mayan ruins and of course the second largest barrier reef in the world, and English speaking too, making it a perfect holiday destination.

Included in your ReefCI trip is the PADI Open Water qualification free of charge (only a small admin fee of US$50 applies) offering huge cost savings, it typically costs US$400! It's a great place to learn with little or no current, clear calm waters and 2 extremely experienced female dive instructors. People swop the normal classroom environment for a hammock under a palm tree and the confined water sessions are held in the lagoon out front, full of marine life, as opposed to a chlorine filled swimming pool!! Sound good?? And if you are already a diver we are offering a free PADI course, up to and including Rescue, only the admin fee applies!

SCUBA diving is a great way to meet new people and did you know that you burn an average of 340 calories per hour while diving without even breaking into a sweat! It is a relaxing sport that makes you appreciate the world in a totally different way, giving you a new perspective to this wonderful planet of ours. With over 70% of our planet made up of water, it is extremely important that we preserve this precious environment.

At ReefCI ,we work on a number of different conservation projects, from spearing , removing (and then eating) the invasive lionfish, to sexing and measuring lobsters, monitoring the coral reef itself and tagging and tracking the queen conch!

ReefCI Feedback

"Reef CI is very special; It's not a luxury dive holiday, but you feel all the closer to the reef creatures as a result.

By engaging with reef conservation (coral health checks, commercial fish counts, lion fish spearing) I have gained new insights into reef diving and fish identification.

The Caribbean may not offer the diversity of the Pacific reefs, but this place really does offer diving experiences that competes (especially at the price); because of the conservation element, and the fact that you have so many untouched sites within five minutes' boat ride - so as you ride out at 7.30am, you know NO ONE else will be there. It really is like having your very own reef garden

Reef CI also make all the fiddly bits like transfers and accommodation on the mainland easy tooso it's not as difficult to get here as you might think!"
