Belize & Whale Sharks July & September

Well….probably the most exciting thing to happen in Belize during the past few months is to site a total of 6 Whale Sharks out of season!

Here is one of our guests experience...

Pete's diary

Arriving in Belize City was welcome as well as daunting. My first real trip alone, let alone my first to Central America, any feelings of excitement were tarred with apprehension: Who would I meet? What would it be like where I am staying? Would I enjoy it?  I was a bit apprehensive as I boarded the smallest aeroplane I had ever been on, once settled into the flight however, it was really exciting. The coral reef stretching out to my left and the jungle to my right, it was hard to stop an obvious smile taking over my face. Upon arrival in Punta Gorda (affectionately known to the locals as 'PG'), I was more apprehensive than before, the place seemed such an alien environment, something that I had never experienced. As those thoughts circled in my mind, I was approached by a member of the ReefCI staff and instantly felt more relaxed. As we cruised through the town in Castro's Taxi, excitement started to take over with thoughts of just how much of an adventure this trip was going to be! In the days following my arrival both the ReefCI staff and the people of Punta Gorda made me feel so welcome that any concerns were gone. It was time for the fun to begin! The town is an amazing place, but the island is something else. The first boat ride out there, over beautiful blue sea was enough to set the heart beating faster, and Frank's Caye itself was everything I'd hoped it would be, the perfect arrangement of sun, sea and sand, and only a 2 minute boat ride from the world's second largest barrier reef.
