Tom Owens Island is a beautiful, idyllic remote private island that is part of the Sapodilla group of islands, located in the south of Belize. Our volunteers have been known to have tears in their eyes when they first arrive!
Tom Owens island situated on the outer reef, is a true 'castaway' coral caye island – accommodation and facilities are rustic with a few home comforts thrown in!
The island is about 1 acre and has a large living area, great views and lots of hammock space.
All of our guests upon arrival tell us that the photos do not do the island justice! It really is a perfect Caribbean paradise.
Accommodation is in private waterfront cabanas, all with amazing views overlooking the stunning Caribbean ocean. The individual cabanas are basic but comfortable and have shared or private bathroom facilities. There are also double en-suite rooms available for couples.
There is a fully equipped dive kit room, kayaks for guests to use free of charge and excellent snorkeling around the island.
The other small cayes are often visited during lunch or between dives!

"At the time I didn’t realise that the 5 staff and us 5 guests on the boat, were literally going to be the only ones on the island – it really is that small, our own little private paradise, just us and the fish! Oh and quite a lot of pelicans and crabs – all friendly."

"I had read some reviews so already knew that the entire island is about the size of a football pitch – no kidding. But that only adds to the charm. Once we arrived, we were all shown to our cabanas which I for one was genuinely surprised and delighted by. Mine is right on the water front with a raised bed, table and curtain door with electricity too. I hadn’t expected it to be quite so comfortable and i loved the sound of crashing waves lulling me to sleep at night"

"I have been on over 400 dives, around the world, and these were some of the most pristine dive sites I have visited."
